Sports in Flushing 
The winter sports season has officially kicked off at the Flushing/Veritas campus! Some of our winter teams : include our Devils Basketball, table tennis and wrestling teams. All of our teams have open tryouts which happened earlier in the school year. In addition to having athletic ability, student athletes need to maintain a passing grade point average across their classes. The coaches say, “student comes before athlete-so be on point”.
Currently, the sports that are actively competing are: the Red Devils (who are at 2-2 for the season so far) and Lady Devils Basketball teams (the ladies are currently 4-0), wrestling (matches start soon), table tennis (currently undefeated for the season).
On the professional sports front, the MLB offseason moves/trades are crazy right now. Shohei Ohtani signed with the Dodgers for 700 million, the biggest deal in sports right now.
Juan Soto is also going to our Yankees in a blockbuster trade.
