However, people can apply for college even years after they graduate high school. According to Education Data In Action almost 19 million students applied to college in 2023 with 70% applying to public colleges.

Some tips for students so they can get an idea for college are: choosing the right college, deciding on your education and career goals, getting involved in extracurricular activities so that your high school resume is brimming with academic and community experiences.
